Rapper 21 savage launching financial program:

21 Savage is launching a free online financial knowledge program for young people as part of a program that aims to provide financial assistance to people who need it during a coronavirus pandemic.

In a press release on Wednesday, he announced the “Open Bank Account at Home” program in cooperation with mobile banking provider Chime and educational technology platform EVERFI, which provides different courses on money for children of different ages.

Rapper statement:

The rapper 21 Savage said: “I think next-generation should provide tools for a successful life this is more important than anything”

Young students can start by learning essential management concepts; middle school students can receive tools on how to start planning a financial future; the press release also provides youth with budgeting and private enterprise courses.

His work also includes working with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to provide free WiFi and tablets to unpopular students in the city, and donating $25,000 to the #ATLStrong COVID-19 rescue fund in Atlanta.

The 21-year-old Savage said he wanted to authorize young people to deal with money. The rapper launched his “bank account” program in 2018 to teach financial knowledge to young students across the United States.

The Grammy-winning rapper, born in London as She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, came to the United States when he was a child and has a long history of using his stage to help others,

especially in his hometown of Atlanta. He hosted a back-to-school event and held a Halloween party at a local shopping mall. After being arrested by the US immigration and customs law enforcement last year, he promoted immigration justice.

In an interview with The Associated Press, he said: “When you were a kid, you didn’t know what happened.”

“Now, when you grow up, you have to figure it out. You cannot find a job. You cannot get a permit. I am one of the lucky ones to succeed. Many people can’t do it.”

NILC appreciates 21 Savage for advocating immigration justice. He was arrested in February for the arrest of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
