Amie Harwick, a famous sex therapist and the ex-fiancee of actor Drew Carey, was murdered Saturday in Hollywood, officials say. Police arrested her ex-boyfriend.
The LAPD said that on Saturday, 15 February, Hollywood patrol officers had received a call. They had responded to a radio call of a woman screaming in the 2000 block of Mound Street in Hollywood Hills. When the officers arrived, Harwick’s roommate met them.
Harwick’s roommate told the officers that Harwick had been assaulted inside of her residence; after which he had jumped a wall and had gone to a neighboring home to call for help.
The Los Angeles Police Department said that when officers had gone to make the entry; they had found the victim on the ground. They had found the victim on the ground beneath a third story balcony. The victim was badly injured. Police send her to the local hospital, where she later died of injuries.
Police said that the investigation had revealed possible evidence of a struggle in upstairs as well as had forced entry to the residence.
Detectives discovered that Harwick had recently revealed fear about a former boyfriend. She had also previously filed a restraining order against him. Police said that the restraining order had since expired. They added the two had seen each other about two weeks before her death.
Gareth Pursehouse was caught in Playa Del Rey on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of murder.
Amie Harwick had done a specialization in psychotherapy and sex therapy. She wrote the book “The New Sex Bible for Women” in 2014. And appeared in the “Addicted to Sexting” 2015 documentary.
Amie Harwick was also known as ex-fiancee of actor Drew Carey, the host of “The Price Is Right”. They got engaged in 2018 but soon got separated.
