The world’s largest video game convention E3 2020 will not hold as scheduled in June in Los Angeles. The organizers analyze the option of making the announcements via streaming.
The coronavirus claims the life of another technological event: E3 2020.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo, known as E3, should be held from June 9 to 11 in Los Angeles, California. Still, the organizing company ESA announced on Wednesday, March 11, the official cancellation of the video game event.
The ESA later confirmed the news in a statement that after careful discussion with their member companies regarding the safety and health of everyone in their industry — their fans, their exhibitors, their employees, and their longtime E3 partners — they had decided to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for 9-11 June in Los Angeles.
Following expanded and overpowering worries about the COVID-19 infection, we felt this was an ideal approach during such an exceptional worldwide circumstance.
The ESA also said that they were very disappointed that they were unable to hold that event for their fans and supporters. But they knew it was the right decision based on the information they had that day.
Their team would be reaching out quickly to exhibitors and attendees with knowledge about giving full refunds.
They were also exploring possibilities with their members to organize an online experience to showcase industry reports and news in June 2020.
The ESA thanked everyone who had shared their views on reimagining E3 that year. They looked forward to bringing them E3 2021 as a reimagined event that brings fans, the industry, and media together in a showcase that celebrated the global video game industry.
Meanwhile, at any rate, one significant organization has announced plans for a digital event during the same time frame. Microsoft said that the safety and health of fans, employees, and their partners around the world was a top priority. We supported the ESA in its decision to cancel E3 following raised public concerns with the coronavirus (COVID-19 virus).
E3 had always been an important moment for them to show what was ahead from Team Xbox. That year they would celebrate the next generation of gaming with the Xbox community. And all who loved to play around the world via a digital event. They would share details on timing and more in the next upcoming weeks.
