It turns out that Steve Martin’s “father of the bride” character, George Banks, is capable enough to deal with this pandemic.

We know that because of the neurotic and likable character and the other main actors of the film reunited on Friday, a new story recorded by the actors themselves and directed by Nancy Meyers. Netflix’s YouTube and Facebook accounts shared “Father of the Bride Part 3” to benefit World Central Kitchen.

Father of the Bride Part Two

The sequel is nearly 27 minutes and takes place 25 years after “Father of the Bride Part Two” (yes, it’s already a long time). It resumes the current Banks family Zoom, and Nina (Diane) Keaton), daughter Annie (Kimberley) · Williams-Paisley), son Matty (Kieran Culkin), and eclectic wedding planner Franck (Martin Short).

The baby (20 years old) in the second film is also on the phone, played by Florence Pugh and Ben Pratt. And there are new roles: Robert De Niro and Alexandra Shipp appear.

In COVID-19, we learned that George has been sending hundreds of masks to his children, obsessed with the availability of Clorox wipes, and measured a 54-foot-high table that can keep his family safe Sit in a social place. He spent time carefully studying how to remove the mask after washing his hands and decided to use two pencils to gently remove the belt from his ears.

The dialogue reorganized some of the “FotB” stories and provided an update on the characters before the viewer understood the real reason for the family chat: Matty, 37, wants to marry the quarantined doctor girlfriend Rachel (Shipp) in the hotel room, on Zoom. Her father (De Niro) also joined the call.

The ceremony hosted by Franck was warm but charming. After George overcame the fact that he was enjoying the food and flowers without paying for it, and he didn’t want to see Rachel’s father sponsor an exquisite wedding, so he was sentimental.
