Former UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones charged with rape and sexual assault

The former boss of an internet technology firm, Lawrence Jones charged with rape and four counts of sexual assault. The technology millionaire and Ex-UKFast CEO have been charged by Greater Manchester Police. Mr. Jones had been charged with one count of rape and four counts of sexual assault following reports made in 2019, Greater Manchester police said.

Lawrence Jones, who presided over UKFast for the past two decades, stepped down as chief executive in November of the year 2019. It was after the financial times published an investigation into his workplace conduct and treatment of female staff. But Mr. Jones has denied all allegations of criminality.

These offenses were supposed to have taken place in the year 2010 and 2013. Mr. Jones was made an MBE in 2015 for services to the digital economy. Also, the former CEO was a guest at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

In one of the statements of the former CEO, he said, “Approximately 18 months ago, I contacted the police and was interviewed voluntarily because I became aware of rumors circulating about me that although false were extremely damaging.”

Besides, he said, “I have fully cooperated with the police throughout, and am determined to ensure that my name is cleared. In the circumstances, at this time it would not be appropriate to say anymore, other than to state clearly that I did not do what is being alleged.”
