NBC News White House reporter Kristen Welker was tasked to preside over the final debate between Biden and Trump. This is what you know about the “Today’s Weekend” anchor.

Longtime NBC News reporter Kristen Welker will host the final debate on the presidential campaign between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden. Welk, 44, is preparing for a challenging night.
After the disastrous first debate, the candidate’s microphone will be closed between the two questions.
Her career at NBC News began as a college student. When Welker was still an undergraduate at Harvard University in 1997, he interned at Today.
In January 2020, 23 years later, she and Peter Alexander will become the co-hosts of Weekend Today. Since 2011, Welk has also served as a White House correspondent for NBC News, covering the 2016 election extensively. She is the second black woman to preside over the presidential debate.
Apart from Welk, there is only one black female journalist at the helm of the presidential debate. The honor is attributed to ABC anchor Carole Simpson hosting the match between George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Rose Perrot in 1992.

Simpson was also the first black woman in charge of major online news programs in the United States.
Growing up as a mixed race prompted her to become a journalist. Welker is one of eight black journalists interviewed by Glamour in June 2020.“Because the protesters were in George Floyd Changes are required after death.
Therefore, it is more important than ever that everyone has a say, and elected leaders from the White House to City Hall are responsible for their words, deeds and actions.”

In a debate in this election cycle, she has used it as the moderator. Welker is a member of a group of four women that presided over a standoff between Democratic hopefuls vying for the Democratic candidate in November 2019.
MSNBC hosts Andrea Mitchell, Rachel Maddow and Ashley Parker also joined her and asked the candidates about health care , Race and high housing prices.
A few days before the debate, Trump criticized her on Twitter. The President tweeted on October 18: “Like most “Fake News” reporters, she has been scary and unfair, but I will still play this role.”
