Mary Wilson’s net worth: Mary Wilson was an American artist who, at the time of her death in 2021, had a net worth of $8 million. As a founding member of The Supremes, Mary Wilson is best remembered. The group would become one of all time’s best-selling girl groups, wracking up a dozen #1 singles.

By 1961, Motown Records had signed the female act, changing their name to The Supremes. One of the most popular vocal groups in music history will continue to be the newly-named party. The Supremes recorded 33 top 40 hits and 12 #1 singles on the Billboard charts over the lifetime of 18 years. The group is best known for the singles “Baby Love” and “You Can’t Hurry Love” “Stop! Dies At 76

“I just woke up to this news,” Ross tweeted to Wilson’s family on Tuesday, offering her condolences. “I am reminded that each day is a gift,” she said, writing, “I have so many wonderful memories of our time together.”

‘I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Mary Wilson of the Supremes’ passing, a big member of the Motown family,’ said Motown founder Berry Gordy in a tweet. “The Supremes have always been known as the ‘Motown sweethearts.’

“In the early 1960s, Mary came to Motown, along with Diana Ross and Florence Ballard. “They opened doors for themselves, the other Motown acts, and many, many others, after an unparalleled series of number one singles, television and nightclub bookings,” Gordy said. “I was always proud of Mary. In her own right, she was quite a celebrity and continued to work tirelessly through the years to raise the Supremes’ legacy. For me, Mary Wilson was extremely rare. She was a visionary, a diva, and she’s going to be sadly missed.

As a child, Wilson lived in a housing project in Detroit, and when she became a member of The Supremes as a teenager, she became a star at a young age.

The band became one of the 1960s’ most successful Motown groups and scored a dozen No.1 singles. On Jan. 21 – the day they were signed by Motown Records – they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

In 1986, with her memoir, Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme, Wilson also published a New York Times best-seller. In 2019, she created a coffee table book called Supreme Glamour, full of intimate stories and hundreds of fashion images.

She appeared on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ at 75.

Wilson was planning on new projects for 2021, including an album on her YouTube channel that she recently teased.
