“Max Von Sydow” was born in Lund, Swedish, on April 10, 1929. Von Sydow turned into a French resident after his second marriage. He made his career in the film industry as an actor. Max von Sydow came in many American and European films, but his most memorable role is in “The Seventh Seal” as Knight Antonius Block. He featured in more than a hundred TV series and movies. During all of his career, he won two Academy Awards nominations for his acting skills in “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” (launched in 2011) and “Pelle the Conqueror” (launched in 1987). In 1954, Von Sydow got the Royal Foundation of Sweden’s Cultural Award, was made a “Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur” on October 17, 2012, and was named a “Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres” in 2005.

Max von Sydow wasn’t frequently seen by the directors as the main man, and particularly not as a romantic lead. His deep voice and harsh viewpoint often prompted his being thrown in progressively severe film character. In his mid-40s, for example, he played the slight, Father Merrin and older title character in The “Exorcist.”
Von Sydow was fluent in all these languages: English, Danish, Italian, French, and Swedish. The French language was spoken by one of his most tearing characters. A powerless, dad who uses a wheelchair who finds he shares a lot of practice talking with his incapacitated child in “The Diving Bell” and the Butterfly. Due to this language knowledge, he won Oscar. And this language skill also helped him to get a lot of roles in acting.
