Mesut Özil appreciates Arsenal former coach Arsene Wenger, as he was asked a question by a fan. He tweeted on his Twitter account recently saying that Arsene Wenger is a special coach in his career. As he was praising his coach when asked, “Do you miss Arsene Wenger?”, he said he is the one that he has total respect for.

Further, he wrote, “He is a great coach with numerous titles. Most of all, he’s a great, sincere person. I associate him with my greatest Arsenal successes. I will always remember that time with him positively.” Earlier, in a Q and A session with Mesut’s fans, he was asked if he viewed Wenger as a ‘Father Figure’.
Özil wrote, “He was really a fantastic manager-yeah, and like a father figure for me and many other players. I think many people around arsenal are really missing him.” The statement given means Mesut believes Arsenal are missing former boss Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal former coach Arsene Wenger said Özil may have gotten too comfortable at Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger spoke about his former player at the Laureus World Sports Awards, he said Özil has gotten too comfortable at Arsenal.
He said, “I feel that the length of the contract has nothing to do normally with the selection of the team. But sometimes there are special cases. Most of the time now we think when we sign a player for five years, we have a good player for five years. But that does not necessarily mean that they practice, they play their best. Because they might be in their comfort zone.”
Further, Arsene Wenger said that Arsenal would need to spend in the region of €100 million if they wanted to bring a player of Özil’s class to the club. Moreover, he uttered, “So the decision you have to make is whether you re-sign the player, who costs us nothing, or do we have the money to buy a new player?”
