A school has Teamed up with Özil’s Charity, Warmer Winters Project

Pupil and staff at Eden Girls’ School, has teamed up with the German footballer’s charity project. They joined as a part of the school’s annual Festive Winter Gift Program. The School could deliver 1,100 meals to the YMCA, Christian Kitchen, Age UK, and Salvation Army. They helped all the vulnerable in the local community.

The dissemination of hot meals also formed part of the school’s commitment to its ‘Food for All Week’ Campaign. Where 29 schools across the Star Academies Multi-Academy trust distributed 50,000 food packages and meals to those suffering from food poverty.

Staff and Pupil aided to carry the Warmer Winters Charity by holding several fundraisers. These Fundraisers include a ‘wear a sparkly jumper day’ and a ‘bring a dish’ sale. Members of staff brought a selection of tasty home-cooked dishes to vend.

A special video message was sent by Mesut in which he thanked those who had made a significant contribution to the fundraiser. This message was played during a special assembly where five framed and signed photos of the star were presented to all those pupils.
