Mesut Özil congratulated Wayne Rooney who has begun a new chapter in his career. On the official Twitter account of Özil, he congratulated Wayne and expressed that he will be missed. The Gunners midfielder titled Wayne Rooney as the best in English football history.

Özil praised Wayne while saying, “Congrats on your incredible football career Wayne Rooney. You will always be remembered as one of the best in English football history. Good luck with your new chapter.”

The news was confirmed on Friday afternoon about Rooney been specified as the new Derby County manager. Being in this position Rooney marked his first venture into management which means he’s also officially retired as a player.
