Concert

Wallen has experienced backlash since being captured on film in February using a racial epithet. He was pulled from numerous radio stations, suspended momentarily by his record label, and blacklisted from both the ACM and CMA Awards – but nevertheless witnessed an increase in sales. He was also jailed for disorderly behaviour in May 2020 and forced to cancel a fall engagement on “Saturday Night Live” due to his failure to follow NBC’s Covid procedure.
The singer originally gained prominence as a contestant on “The Voice” in 2014 and released his debut album in 2018, earning him a Country Music Association Award for best new artist. “Up Down” (co-written with Florida Georgia Line), “Whiskey Glasses,” “Chasin’ You,” “More Than My Hometown,” and “7 Summers” are among his chart-topping singles.
Wallen’s 2022 tour schedule also includes two additional visits in Upstate New York: June 25 at the Darien Lake Amphitheater near Buffalo and July 7 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs.
Wallen is the first addition to the St. Joe’s Amp roster for 2022 that is not a rescheduled performance from a previous date. Four of the shows in the calendar were slated for 2020 but were postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
