Director Olivia Wilde has praised the “humility and grace” of Harry Styles for playing a supporting role in her film, Don’t Worry Darling.
Amid social media gossip and speculations of tabloid relationships, the Star paid tribute to the former One Director.
Don’t worry; Darling is a psychological thriller with the British actress and Oscar nominee Florence Pugh as an unsatisfactory housewife whose husband keeps a dark secret. Wilde, 36, has now discussed with 27-year-old Styles that she doesn’t want most actors to take the female stars back seat.
She wrote on Instagram, sharing a black-and-white photograph of the singer: ‘What is little understood is that most male rivals don’t want to play supporting roles in female films.
“The industry has raised them to assume that their capacity (i.e., financial value) to take on these positions is diminished, one of the reasons why it is challenging to receive funding for films based on women’s stories.
Instagram, along with Florence Pugh, to share some sweet words about the hard work of the former One Direction star in the film: “The little known fact is that most male actors don’t want to play supporting roles in women’s movies.
