Phil Mickelson was declared the winner of PGA Championship of Golf tournament at the age of 50!

Phil Mickelson also known from her nick name that is Lefty is a famous American golf player. Up till now he has won 45 PGA tournaments. He finished 2 shots prior Brooks Koepka and Joe Louis Oosthuizen at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course with following a mind-blowing final spherical performance, finishing six-under for the tournament. At the age of 50 winning a tournament, Mickelson surpassed the record antecedently of Julius Boros for winning the PGA Championship in the year 1968 when Boros was at the age forty eight. One of the victories for Michelson is that it was the sixth major title of Mickelson’s long and storied career, together with his previous PGA Championship with a tremendous coming back after sixteen years since 2005.

Fortunately a bogey for Mickelson and birdie for Koepka on the gap hole tied the scores up, with seventeen holes standing between with a famous and illustrious Wanamaker Trophy.

Both of them went back and forth, exchanging birdies, pars, bogeys and also the odd double bogeys throughout the primary four holes with a very tough competitor spirit. But the Mickelson magic that fans have come back to see which they liked all over his career who have now began to emerge on the par-three fifth hole.

Mickelson dropped his thirteenth shot in the water which makes him very uncomfortable by the time. However a couple of errant shots from Koepka, he wasn’t ready to pay the price after coming this much far as each player is bogeying the opening.

On following hole, Mickelson’s tee shot left him a trick chip on green and it price him as he picked up consecutive bogeys, reducing the gap between him and Oosthuizen to only 3 and simply once all the pressure was on within the audience ahead, Oosthuizen’s birdie reduced the gap to 2 shots while Mickelson created a 366-yard drive on the sixteenth hole which was the longest drive there on hole by any player at all times in the history. It resulted in a one of the important birdie, all over again stretching his 3 shots that nervously was reduced to 2 moments later.

“This is just an incredible feeling because I just believed that it was possible but yet everything was saying it wasn’t. I hope that others find that inspiration. It might take a little extra work, a little bit harder effort to maintain physically or maintain the skills, but gosh, is it worth it in the end, and I’m so appreciative to be holding this Wanamaker Trophy.” he said.

In an incredible and history making sight on the ultimate last hole, however, encircled by thousands of fans and bathed in daylight, Mickelson marked his name into the history books. For Koepka, it was like seeking his third PGA Championship title in four years, the main reason was his putter who held him back.

Koepka gave a very tough competition to Mickelson throughout the match. The four-time major winner delineate being “super disappointed” and “pretty bummed” within the immediate moments once the ultimate round happened.

The story of Mickelson’s win and his age is already reverberating all over the internet. People are getting very fascinated with his win. Tiger Woods who was a 15-time major winner, paid tribute to Mickelson on Twitter, saying: “Truly sacred to examine Phil Mickelson have proved once more at fifty years age. Congrats!!!!!!!”

Heading into the PGA Championship, Mickelson was possibly terribly isolated from people’s favorites to win. After his best action and record breaking achievement, Mickelson’s brother Tim who has a big hand behind Mickelson’s success, is now currently want his brother to just relaxed and chill his mind after this great victory.

“I just told him to stop thinking so much. When he would get ahead of himself, I reminded him. Hey, we’ll worry about that when we get there. A few stories here and there and maybe one or two might have been made up, who knows? But anything I can do to keep his mind off of the shot that’s coming up when it’s not even our turn to hit.” he said in a press conference.
