
Investigators are searching for the missing Florida girl Gabby Petito hope to speak with her boyfriend. They believe she was the last person close to her when her family members reported missing. A spokesperson for the police confirmed Wednesday.
“He needs to talk to us,” Josh Taylor, a representative of the North Port, Florida police department, told an announcement. “We need to know exactly where he was, where she was, their last locations and that the fact that he was back here for 10 days. … The family reported her missing ten days later.”
The family of Petito’s reported her missing on September 11. As per North Port police, they said that they had the last contact with her in the latter part of August.
Before that, Petito is believed to be within the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, according to police. According to police, the woman was traveling with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, in a white 2012 Ford Transit van with a Florida license plate in an announcement on Wednesday. Announcement.
According to the release, her car was found on September 11 at her North Port home she shared with Laundrie and his parents. Laundrie was reported to have gone back to North Port on September 1.

The vehicle was inspected, and “there was some material in there” that the authorities will go through, Taylor told reporters at Wednesday’s press conference. Taylor did not offer any further details about the substance.
There’s currently no warrant of a search for the property, Taylor said.
The authorities went to the house Saturday to talk to Laundrie as well as his relatives, but “we were essentially handed the information for their attorney,” Taylor told the media.
“That is the extent of our conversation with them,” Taylor stated. “It’s my understanding we have had some conversations with his attorney but certainly nothing to the level of providing us the details that we would like.”
North Port police are leading the investigation with assistance from the FBI. Petito’s parents have been notified of her disappearance by the local authority of Suffolk County, New York.
Laundrie family members are remaining hidden in the shadows’
In a statement that was released on Tuesday, the parents of Petito, Nicole Schmidt and Joseph Petito stated that Laundrie would not tell them the last time he visited their daughter and “refusing to explain why he left Gabby all alone and drove her van to Florida.”
A lawyer representing the Laundrie family has said in a statement released on Tuesday that their family was “remaining in the background at this juncture and will have no further comment” on the counsel’s advice.
“It is our understanding that a search has been organized for Miss Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming,” Laundrie, a lawyer for the family Steven Bertolino, said in the statement.
In response to that comment, Petito’s parents pleaded with the family of Laundrie to “help find who Brian referred to as the love of his life.”
“How does Brian stay in the background when he is the one person that knows where Gabby is located?” Their statement stated.
Police report disappearance circumstances “odd.”
In the news conference on Wednesday, Taylor said police are taking action to do “everything we can to bring her home safely or potentially hold anybody responsible for hurting her accountable.”
“We are concerned, and we’re working as quickly as we can to get a resolution,” Taylor stated.
In the past, North Port police called the reasons for her disappearance “odd. “
“Someone who’s been traveling and contacting family and then all of a sudden goes dark — that’s odd,” Taylor explained to CNN on Tuesday.
Police have said Petito is White, around 5 feet 5 inches tall, and 110 pounds. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and various tattoos, including one on her fingers and an on her arm, which says “Let it be.”
The FBI has established an international hotline, called 800-CALL FBI (225-5324) -to get information, police said.
“So far, we have received hundreds of tips which are being vetted through multiple agencies. If anyone has seen the van photographed and information which might be helpful, please let us know,” police stated.
An authentic GoFundMe account was established to raise funds to aid in the search for Petito with her family’s approval.
“Our Trust and Safety Team is working with the GoFundMe organizer to ensure the funds are transferred directly to the family,” GoFundMe communications manager Kelsi Gantt said in an email sent to CNN.
