Pakistan super league is the mega event of Pakistan organized by Pakistan cricket board. It is consist of six teams in which each team is allowed to make 4 overseas players play in their team at a time. It is a 20 overs league. PSL teams’ names are based on the big cities of Pakistan such as Karachi King, Lahore Qalanders etc.
PSL’S 6th edition:
In this year’s PSL draft, each team must have a minimum squad of 16 players and maximum squad of 18 players as per following combination – three platinum, three diamonds, three golds, five silvers, two emerging and two supplementary.
PSL 6 Postponed:
PSL 6 edition, was going very successful until and unless terrible news came to headlines that players started getting their covid-19 results positive because of the bio bubble breach. Peshawar Zalmi management is held accountable because they make contact in between players and fans. After considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the Pakistani cricket board decided to postpone this mega event with the heavy heart. This decision was made after 7 positive cases were reported of covid-19 among players.

PSL to be resumed:
PSL was rescheduled in UAE and has to be started on June 2, 2021 but several players haven’t reached yet and when they will reach self-isolation is also mandatory before going on fields. Plus many local players including Sarfaraz Ahmed and 11 other players were not allowed to board to Abu Dhabi , so they will be send through Bahrain till that they are waiting for their visas.
New Picks Of the Teams:
Due to the recent circumstances 130 players are replaced from the draft list. According to ESPNcricinfo, from 10 players from Australia, 12 from New Zealand, 18 from South Africa, 7 from Bangladesh, 25 from West Indies, 24 from Sri Lanka, 6 from Zimbabwe, 16 from Afghanistan, 5 from Ireland, 5 from UAE, 4 from Scotland, 1 from Nepal and 1 from Oman players are listed for replacement draft.
Some of the Ex PSL Winners:
The 1st season of PSL played in the UAE due to poor-security reasons in Pakistan. Islamabad United marks the first win and named 1st title of PSL by Quetta Gladiators with 6 wickets in the field.
PSL of the year 2017, final match was played in Lahore, where Peshawar Zalmi won the 2nd title of the league by defeating Quetta Gladiators with a margin of 58 runs on 5 March 2017.

Islamabad United again in the row won the PSL 3rd champions title by defeating Peshawar Zalmi by a margin of 3 wickets on 5 March 2018.
Quetta Gladiators was the champion of PSL 4 who won by 8 wickets on 17 March, 2019 in the Karachi national stadium. Pakistan cricket board received their goals after the completion of 4successful editions of PSL.
PSL 5th final was held in Karachi and on the home ground Karachi kings beats Lahore Qalanders.
PSL reframed new image of Pakistan:
PSL purpose of launching was to return the international cricket to Pakistan. International cricket banned in Pakistan after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team in Lahore on 3rd March, 2019. It now identified that PSL is gaining more success than previous editions of it. For example first five teams played initial editions but on people’s demand one more group is added in PSL now. PSL 6 was postponed in midway because of abundant Covid cases found among players but it is going to be resuming soon.
