Far-left activist Shaun King tweeted on Monday said all the images depicting Jesus as a “white European” should be torn down because they depict a form of ”white supremacy.”.

King made his remarks over Twitter as historical monuments and statutes have become the prime targets of anger and vandalism during the “Black Life Matter Protests’ in the wake of the “George Floy’s death while in police custody during last month.

He also twitted:

“Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been,” King tweeted. “In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide and blend in, guess where they went? EGYPT! Not Demark. Tear them down.”.

He also wrote:

“Yes. All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down. They are a gross form of white supremacy. They were created as tools of oppression. Racist propaganda. They should all come down.”

There have been mixed reactions about the King Tweet’s; some said that the depictions are the way Jesus is depicted while others said that it resembled the local community.

In Ethiopia, Jesus is depicted to be black. While in some cultures in Asia, it is shown to be Asian.

King has been a leading voice for the blacks in the Black Lives Movement. He was despondent and depressed when he was called Caucasians falsely portraying himself as Black.

Controversy:

“I have been told for most of my life that the white man on my birth certificate is not my biological father and that my actual biological father is a light-skinned black man. My mother and I have discussed her affair. She was a young woman in a bad relationship, and I have no judgment,” he wrote in 2015 amid reports that he misrepresented his race.

People came to the streets after a Black was killed in broad daylight. The suspect was known as George Floyd.
