The Defense Production Act: Boost Required in Production of Personal Protective Equipment for COVID-19

The Defense Production Act: The Previous week has seen numerous steps toward tending to the difficulties arising out of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

Days after proclaiming the COVID-19 flare-up a national crisis. US President Donald Trump utilized his authority to invoke the Defense Production Act (DPA).

A letter sent to President Donald Trump:

I read from, on Saturday, the American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Nurses Association (ANA), and the American Medical Association (AMA); sent a letter to President Donald Trump.

 In this letter, they demanded more medical supplies, so that they can tackle the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. 

These three organization asked Donald Trump to utilize the “Defense Production Act (DPA).”. It will help to fulfil the fewer supplies of surgical masks, N95 respirators, surgical gown and other required resources for COVID-19 treatment.

The developing supply chain storage of PPE and the gradually expanding influence to those on the cutting edges is a chief worry for all the health care experts.

Furthermore, they wrote, “America’s emergency clinics, doctors and the nurses encourage you to utilize the Defense Production Act (DPA) as soon as possible; to expand the residential creation of clinical supplies.”.

And also the medical equipment that medical clinics, nurses, doctors and all bleeding-edge suppliers, so urgently required during their job.

In the letter, the organizations also wrote that even with the provision of strategic reserves and other federal resources, including ventilators; there might not be enough medical supplies, to face the expected COVID-19 outbreak.

But Donald Trump did not give a proper response. Instead of providing all these resources, he and his administration hide all the news about it. And in media stated that we are doing an excellent job for our nation.
