The role of distributed cloud computing in the enterprise

With increasing pressure to provide tools and applications to enable staff to perform daily tasks remotely.

Organizations have begun to consider all available computing options, including cloud computing.

Although cloud computing can be expensive, it does provide flexibility that local systems don’t, and can be scaled up or down as needed.

Different styles

However, cloud computing has some different styles. For some companies, hybrid computing is the way forward.

This calculation solves many problems, but it does not solve all problems. The new problem is especially in Europe, this is especially in Europe, requiring organizations to store citizens’ data within the boundaries of a specific geographic location. This is a location issue and the subsequent data governance and compliance issues.

In this case, there are two other types being applied. The first is distributed cloud computing, and the second is edge computing:

Distributed cloud: Distributed computing is almost as old as computing itself. In the context of information technology, distributed means sharing certain content among multiple systems, which may also be located in different locations.

Edge computing:

The term “edge” here refers to geographic distribution. Edge computing is computing performed at or near the data source, rather than relying on the cloud in one of a dozen data centers to complete all the work.

Distributed cloud computing is the first model that uses the physical location of services provided by the cloud as part of its definition. Historically, location has nothing to do with its definition.
