People expect that a Full Snow Moon will hit the sky this weekend. But experts differ about whether it is a supermoon or not.

It would be the biggest full moon this year, as the moon is nearing the nearest point to Earth. But there is no official news for the supermoon.

It is a simple full snow moon that appears in February. This snow moon will hit the sky from Friday evening to Monday morning, and this weekend will snow moon weekend because it will appear for about three days. It will look at the largest at 7:33 UTC or 2.33 ET.
When to see the full February moon
People can see the full moon at 2:33 am ET on Sunday, 9 February. It will appear almost full on 9 February, Saturday night, and full on Sunday. It will appear at 4:41 pm Saturday, and on Sunday at 5:56 pm in The New York, according to TimeAndDate.com. It will appear at the west-northwestern sky on Sunday at 7:27 am.
Other Names of February Full Snow Moon
Snow moon has many other names. Other names for February moon include Hunger Moon, the Full Moon of Tu B’Shevat, the Chinese Lantern Festival Moon and Storm Moon.
The people of Northeastern US called this the Storm Moon or the Snow Moon because of the heavy snows that come in this season. In January and February, bad weather and heavy snowstorms come, which make hunting difficult, so this moon also called the Hunger Moon.

What is a supermoon?
A moon becomes supermoon when it comes closer to Earth than average. Hence it appears a bit larger than usual. Sometimes up to 30{7d6bb1f761e691f027164c9fe6d1ebbc4659a250013ce39dc45a15ede39dbac5} larger and brighter than usual, mainly when climatic circumstances are ideal.
