Tom Coburn became a manufacturing manager at the “Ophthalmic Division” of Coburn Optical Industries in Virginia, in 1970.

In the leadership of Coburn, this industry grew from thirteen employees to the three hundred and fifty employees, in just eight years. And this fantastic growth covered almost 35 percent of the US market.
