For the narrative podcast series “Ice Lions,” which centers on a group of teenagers who play ice hockey at the only rink in East Africa, Ort Casting is now looking for talent. The narrator is looking for a male voice actor, ages 38 to 52, with an East African/Kenyan accent. In August, the talent will work remotely or in New York City, New Jersey. $390 to $780 is paid for three days of labor.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

John’s casting in the scripted podcast series “Ice Lions”

Summary: A group of teenagers play ice hockey, a sport that most other Kenyans have never even seen, on the lone rink in all of East Africa.

Despite their lack of official skating gear and limited understanding of the regulations, the players gel into a strong team under the guidance of captain John Kitumaini and the youthful brother-sister duo of Mercy and Sam.

And even dare to dream of unifying Kenya as a whole, not just the magnificent metropolis of Nairobi. The Ice Lions are these. And this is the account of their creation.

During studio sessions, a small camera crew may be present to record behind-the-scenes material, such as actors rehearsing, recording, and doing brief interviews.

John, the insightful and ardent narrator from Nairobi, Kenya, can be kind, lighthearted, and upbeat as he relates his teenage years and the tale of how, in spite of all the challenges he faced, his newfound love of ice hockey motivated him to form the first ice hockey team in Kenya. He has the same boundless optimism and wonderful sense of humor as our hero when he was younger, but he also possesses the wisdom and experience that has grounded him.

Dates & Locations

Recorded in August, either remotely or at the studio located in Montclair, NJ, or in NYC. Note: Depending on equipment and production requirements, recordings may consist of a combination of remote sessions and in-person sessions in recording studios in NYC and/or Montclair, NJ.

Pay & Contract

Rate: US$130.00 – US$260.00 / day
Total Pay: US$390.00 – US$780.00 for an estimated 3 days of work

Extra: Pays a flat amount of $130 per session for a maximum of four hours of recording time. The Sag-Aftra Podcast Agreement currently in effect addresses this.
